History  
  First she served in the Pacific, then when war broke out she escorted convoys in the Atlantic.

On 18 February, 1942 she ran aground in heavy weather on Ferryland Point, Placentia Bay, Newfoundland, and almost immediately broke up. Despite the help of locals, 113 of her crew died and there were only 33 survivors. The Commanding officer Lt Cdr Ralph Hickok was amongst those who died in this tragedy.
