Damaged following a Kamikaze attack on the afternoon of the 30th December
1944 left 19 killed and 15 wounded. Decommissioned 1 February 1946. Gansevoort was stricken from the Naval Vessel Register on 1 July 1971 and sunk as a target off Florida on 23 March 1972. |
