On 6 December 1944 HMS Bullen (Lt. Cdr. A.H. Parish, RN) was torpedoed and sunk by U-775 west off Strathy Point, Scotland in position 58º30'N, 05º03'W. Of the 168 crewmembers on board 71 went down with the ship.
